Megacon Recap

On the 15th of this month, Laura and I set off to Carlisle. One quick train journey, and a taxi later we made it to the event!

How surprised were we to find out that the lovely Katie (Pai-thagoras) and Chris (Christeeny) were also there, they're absolutely lovely so it's was wonderful to see them again :)

We decided to only take a simple display set up with us, as we thought it was just going to be a slow event, where we could chat to stall holders. As per usual we split the table, Laura didn't take any larger pieces so I got more space. You can tell that we're having issues on how we want our display to look, we're working on something new for MCM Scotland in September.

Mostly covering the grids so you can see through, and I think I'll be moving my earrings to the rotating display or a pin board.

But back to the convention, wow! It was a smashing success for me! I actually did better here than at Sunnycon this year, which was a massive shock. Everyone was lovely, the stallholders and the con-goers were all happy to be there, it was such a nice environment to be in, even if I was a little bit sick during the day. A few pretty purchases from the stall next to me made everything better!

One of the stalls closer to the entrance caught my eye, sadly I don't wear heels but I was gushing over these so much!
Game of Thrones Iron Throne Shoes

Harry Potter Gryffindor and Slytherin shoes!

Perfect for any geek!

We're off to MCM Glasgow in a few weeks so hopefully I'll do a little update about that :)

Hello! Sunnycon 4 was at the end of June (I'm running behind!) and I thought I'd do a little post about it.

It was windy.

Very windy.

But it was a great event, Sunnycon always is, just unfortunately due to the strong winds the gazebos were breaking throughout the weekend! But it just threw some excitement into the works.
Laura (Goffietwerb/Gremlinloquacious) was sharing a table with me again, we really need to start getting 2 in a row instead! On the Saturday we wore Lolita for the first time! I recently bought 2 OP's and a jsk, and I created a simple coord :)

I'm wearing Bodylines Squirrel Party OP, perfect for newbies!

We went to the after party on the Saturday night, and might of had a little bit too much fun :D

It was an absolute blast to do this event and we'll be back next year!

Well hello!

So Sunnycon is approaching fast now, with just over 3 weeks to go preparations are well in the works! There will be new products to grab there, my Legend of Korra jewellery, available as a set or individually, Attack on Titan, new Legend of Zelda products, Rupees, chests and more.

I'm very much looking forward to showing it all off, although it has been difficult! Goffietwerb aka Laura, is joining me again for this years event, we did it together last year too, but we decided on the day on our stall set up. Now we're 2 steps ahead and have sorted out displays and done a mock set up, nothing can go wrong right??

Look at the preperation!

I'll be bringing a long my first lolita coord to wear on the Saturday, Bodylines Squirrel Party dress in blue, its so pretty! Something nice and light to wear, for Sunday its either Pam from Archer or normal clothing as it was roasting last year!

Next year Sunnycon is moving to Newcastle and I am absolutely excited and happy for the Sunnycon team to get this far! Can't wait to see what the future holds at this event.

NERG COMPLETE.

NERG has definitely killed me this weekend, it was brilliant!
Just a shame about the heat and that the lighting wasn't brilliant for photos :(

I had my stall opposite machines such as Daytona USA, 2 Star Wars machines, Road Blasters and others! And I was lucky to be next to the lovely stall, Lair of the Nerd, who make fantastic tshirts and other goodies.

Obligatory stall photos

Sorry about this terribad post, I'm a wee bit tired, and now I'm off to recover a bit more, then plan on replenishing my stock!
If anyone knows of any events, conventions or anything that you think Charles Bazaar will suit, please send me a message :)

Screen-con

Very late update, but I went to Screen-con (Sci-fi convention) on May 4th, it was it's very first event, and it was fantastic! I was a dealer there so I wanted to keep my costume quite simple, and my table buddy was going as fem!Bofur (just a female version of a character) so I went as fem!Thorin with a Lolita twist.

I made the belt buckle and mini bracers very quick before the con, just out of foam, little test run for Aragorn.

Just wore a big poofy black skirt and top with geometric patterns.

For Screen-con I wanted to look at what was famous in the Sci-fi genre. Well that just pretty much consists of all the 'Star' movies, Star Trek, Star Wars, I never got around to making any Stargate or Battlestar Galactica stuff :(

Here we have part of my face and Star Trek TNG communicator badge, R2D2 and Boba Fett.

After finally getting to North Shields, we walked into a massive hall with rows of tables and set up, I have the bestie with me with her amazing drawings set up (currently persuading her to get her own table at future events, I know she can do it! She's finally getting her confidence back, which is ace). I bought a sign for my stall, but forgot the string, idiot that I am.

Unfortunately there were empty tables either side of mine :/ Which was annoying, as I knew someone who wanted a table, but Screen-con said there wasn't any.... well.
But I managed to pick up Eomer and Laura picked up Gimli.

Sexy mo'fo's

There were alot of amazing cosplay/costumes there, I only managed to get a few pictures of them, I keep telling myself I'll get more!
Oh and there was this lovely Bofur cosplayer too!

Doctor Who cosplayers.

As I said, it was an amazing event to go too, and I can see it doing well in the future, they've already arrange Scream-con for October which I'll be going to. Just hope they sort out events to do during the day, as I couldn't tell what was on myself.
